Volume one of Willow House Machines includes 2 processed analog drum machine libraries:

Patterns + sounds from a Behringer RD-8 analog drum machine (Roland 808 clone) run into an irresponsibly overdriven hardware UA LA-610 as well as a Strymon DECO pedal in parallel. These loops and samples are quite fun and hairy and inspiring to use.

  • 33 total loops, including 11 tempos of patterns in overdriven "610", imaged "DECO", and a blend of both "SUM" folders.
  • 78 total one shot samples, including sounds with varied velocities and decay times, organized the same as the loops, in "610", "DECO", and "SUM" folders.

Patterns and sounds from a 1970's Yamaha EM90 analog drum machine recorded at irresponsibly fast tempos onto cassette tapes and then slowed down on a Library of Congress C1 cassette player. The EM90 is a very colorful analog mixer with a genre-based drum machine built right in. Quirky mentionables: the "TEMPO" knob ranges from 0 to 10, with a pretty slim listenable window. The crazy fast tempos reveal weird pseudo-rhythmic artifacts and tasty sound treats when they're slowed way down on the tape. Also, more than one genre pattern button can be pressed down at once, yielding some fun combinations.

  • 12 loops of tape-slowed genre combo drum machine patterns organized in a fast option (148bpm) and a slow option (88bpm).
  • 6 additional loops of heavily processed, chopped patterns at 120bpm. These are wild and maybe my favorite sounds in this volume.
  • 8 one shot samples of isolated drum sounds from the EM90 after being recorded to tape and slowed on the L.O.C. C1.
